## Scenario

A regulated enterprise has a central cloud team, three product domains and a managed-service provider. Delivery is slow because routine choices wait for central approval, while nobody can show who accepts operational readiness or supplier evidence.

## Learner task

1. Select a credible operating-model archetype and state why it fits.
2. Define the mandates of Cloud Governance, Architecture, Platform Engineering, Service Management and Operations.
3. Allocate accountable and execution ownership for the material responsibilities.
4. Record at least five recurring decisions with one final authority each.
5. Draw at least six directed interfaces, including exchange and acceptance criteria.
6. Run validation and record unresolved assumptions as open questions.

## Evidence prompts

- What outcome or constraint supports each allocation?
- Which responsibility may be externally executed but must remain internally accountable?
- What evidence allows Operations to accept a service?
- Which routine decision can be delegated safely, and within what threshold?

## Review rubric

- Mandates are bounded and do not silently overlap.
- Every material decision has one final accountable authority.
- Every cross-boundary handoff names a receiver and acceptance evidence.
- Provider execution retains an internal outcome owner.
- The learner can explain each exception to the reference pattern.

## Instructor debrief

Compare two models by decision location, retained capability, delivery speed and control evidence. Reward coherent trade-offs rather than resemblance to the reference model.
